Appearances can be Deceiving

I've had the best foreign food at the worst looking places.
For example:
(1) A middle eastern restaurant in Cambridge, MA
that disappeared many moons ago.
Run by a married couple from the middle east
whose son was attending a local school.
The restaurant looked like a closet and had
walls and tables of linoleum
and plain ordinary cafeteria dishes.
But the food was Outstanding. It's
the only time I've had REAL Turkish coffee
and REAL Baklava. Everywhere else
the Turkish coffee has tasted like mud,
and the Baklava has been way too sweet.
It's as if the chefs at those other
places have never had REAL middle eastern food
(so they really shouldn't be selling it).
(2) the TANDOOR sub shop.
EXCELLENT REAL INDIAN FOOD.
(also sells american subs)
Their Tamarind Chutney & Indian breads are fantastic.
It's located on Mass Ave in Arlington, MA.
Next door to the Post Office near Park Avenue.
You know an Indian restaurant is good
when you see Indian people eating there.

Hi I'm from NOWHERE
-------------------------------------
TOM SNYDER: Does it surprise you that it took so long
for so many of us to get into your act?
Why do think that was??
JOHN LENNON: Well... it was mainly the PARENTS and they
were against Rock N' Roll from the beginning.
People have always been trying to stomp out
Rock N' Roll since it started.
TOM SNYDER: Why do you think that is?
What are they afraid of?
JOHN LENNON: I always thought it was because it came from
BLACK MUSIC... and the words contained alot of
double-entendre in the early days.
"Our WHITE kids, our WHITE WASPS, were going
to go cRaZy with all this moving of their bodies."
You know, the music got to your body.
The BEATLES took it a bit further.
They made it a little more WHITE...
... even WHITER than ELVIS did,
... because we're ENGLISH.
from the videotape:
"Interview with a Legend
JOHN LENNON
with Tom Snyder on the Tomorrow Show"
(Karl Home Video; NBC Enterprises; 1980)
If this is TOO SERIOUS for you then I suggest the movie:
"HELP!
with the Beatles"
(MPI Home Video; MP 1340)
